Distillery District Wedding – Latvian Cultural Center Wedding

Kit and Amanda wanted to celebrate Amanda’s Latvian heritage and decided on the Latvian Cultural Centre for their wedding ceremony and reception.  Choosing March for their date as a way to get family together before the summer. Kit and the guys decided the Mill St Brewpub in the distillery district was the perfect spot for them to relax before meeting up with the rest of the wedding party for pictures before the ceremony. When Amanda and her bridal party arrived […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – AirBnB Wedding Venue

You don’t have to have your wedding in a ‘wedding venue’ …more and more I’m photographing weddings in unique locations like cottages, farms, family property in the woods and places like restaurant patios, pubs and now AirBnB’s Kaitlyn and Patrick found a great AirBnB with enough space and isolation to host their intimate wedding of about 50 ppl.  The AirBnB has been used for Yoga Retreats, Corporate Workshops and Cooking show production for TV.  Needless to say the surroundings were […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Fort Henry Wedding

Pearl Jam brings people together.  I’ve never met a more friendly group of concertgoers than any contingent of Pearl Jam fans I’ve run into at numerous shows over the last 20-25 years.  Laura and James are an example of this …their inquiry stated they were very eager to meet up for a pint and to talk about PJ as they were both big fans also.  Unfortunately I was away in Punta Cana shooting my last wedding of 2017 when they […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – backyard wedding

An RCMP officer escorts you down the aisle …and it’s not leading to a squad car because you’ve had too much to drink and are causing a disturbance at the wedding …it’s your dad and your mom can’t stop weeping as she watching you walk up towards your husband who’s holding back his emotions because he knows you’ll blow your ‘cool cover’ if he whimpers even slightly. Phew – they did it – they made it down the aisle and […]

Toronto Wedding Photographer – Drake one-fifty Wedding

A lot of my business is referral based which is a total thrill for me to read “you shot my friend’s wedding and we loved the photos.” in the inquiry when it arrives.  So when a bridesmaid from a previous wedding contacts me she not only already knows my work but my personality also so it’s usually a great fit for both of us.  Clare and Justin were no exception to this rule of thumb.  We’d worked together at Kait […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Sandbanks Wedding

Sarah and Joel live in Toronto and had their mind set on a Prince Edward County Wedding with a cottage vibe to bring their friends and family down for a weekend.  They found a wonderful spot on AirBnB near the Sandbanks beach with enough space for a backup plan for their ceremony indoors in a renovated garage / workshop complete with a bar! I arrived to find Joel writing his wedding speech, refining his vows with friends and family around […]

Toronto Wedding Photography – Le Select Bistro Wedding

Alli and Kyle had planned their wedding in Prince Edward County but a couple of shifts in planning needed to be made to accommodate their needs and a desire to scale back their wedding to a more intimate gathering so it was off to Toronto for the day to Le Select Bistro. We started the day at the Hilton Toronto where the ladies had a full on dance party in their suite while the gentleman took a more subdued approach […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Fields on West Lake Wedding

You know you’ve found the right people to work with when they change their wedding date to work with you.  After some rescheduling and shifting a bunch of other components of their wedding around we nailed down a meeting for pints, talk about the Blue Jays and to discuss what kind of party their wedding was going to be. Alex and Jarrod are superhuman.  Both have had some serious health issues in the past (Alex) and Jarrod in recent years […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Four Points Sheraton Wedding

Renée and Tomasz’s wedding day was a short one (for me).  They’re not centre of attention type of people and wanted to keep their wedding coverage simple.  I love smaller weddings, and especially on Thanksgiving weekend (a great excuse to have a bunch of family and friends eat and drink together). We started our day arriving at Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish where a heartfelt ceremony culminated with Renée’s smile beaming from the signing table as her ladies wept in […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Fields on West Lake Wedding

Who says a destination wedding has to be somewhere tropical?  When you live in The Yukon, Fields on West Lake in November *IS* tropical so why not bring your family and friends down and have a Prince Edward County fall wedding in exactly like Joanna and Joel did. Ok – not ALL of their family lives in The Yukon, only they do; so getting married in Wellington was not that far for everyone except the Bride and Groom :) We […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Yasmin and Shaun – Punta Cana Wedding

Yasmin and Shaun contacted me for an engagement session before their wedding in Punta Cana.  After working together they asked if I’d be interested in tagging along to cover their wedding in the Dominican Republic at The Riu Palace Bavaro.  I’m never afraid to travel so I hopped on board that plane with their family and closest friends and off we went to the sun and fun of the resort. a 44 degree wedding day in the middle of November […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Glen Lawrence Golf Club Wedding

Kristin and Jay are a fun loving couple who enjoy the Toronto Blue Jays and beer (ok – Kristin doesn’t like beer that much as you can see in one of the photos below – but wine is a different story) They decided to hitch up their wagons to the Glen Lawrence Golf Club on a nice Summer’s day …

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Alison and Dennis Backyard Wedding

From the moment Alison emailed me her outline of their wedding plan when inquiring if I was available for their date, I was interested in being part of their day. “We are planning for a mostly outdoors wedding taking advantage of their extra side lot for a tent and old wishing well for the ceremony. Our guest list will likely be about 100. We live in NYC but are so excited to get married in my home town in my […]

Napanee Wedding Photographer – Carrie and Julian’s Farm Wedding

Carrie and Julian live on a farm just north of Napanee and chose that location for their Napanee Farm Wedding.  Julian had grown up on a farm with lots of animals and chores and his beloved tractor, Henry.  Henry was going to be a guest at the wedding I was informed during our time together shooting their engagement photos on and around their farm (while being chased by chickens).  They showed me the barn and discussed their plans for renovating […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Amy and Ryan’s Farm Wedding

When your farm has a horse field, a quarry and a beautiful barn you have your wedding there.  Amy and Ryan spend a few weeks preparing their quarry area for the ceremony location and it was an absolutely perfect spot for them to share their wedding day with friends and family.  The clouds loomed but the rain that threatened us all day never did start. Here’s a few of my favorite images from their day:

Summer 2016 will go down on record as one of the driest summers ever; but when it rained, it realllllly rained (and mostly on Saturdays).  Sarah and Tyler weren’t letting rain stop their dreams of having an outdoor wedding on their property (uhhh the log cabin THEY built with their own hands!) and making it a party. They weren’t kidding when they said they wanted a party …

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Picton Farm Wedding – Elise and Neil

This summer will go down as one of the driest in our memories.  When he rained it was needed badly so no one complained; even if it was on their wedding day.  Neil and Elise decided to get married on Neil’s family farm in Prince Edward County where they spend their summers.  Camping, having a fire listening to someone play guitar, swimming and walks in the woods are among their favorite things to do on here so they incorporated almost everything into […]

Brighton Wedding Photographer – Timber House Wedding – Meredith and Adam

Adam and Meredith are travelers and decided on a travel theme for their wedding.  While on their adventures around the world they stop at statues and photograph themselves recreating the poses of each statue.  Those statues and their poses served as the method to get them to kiss during their reception… The Airline Attendants (Emcees) guided everyone on board the plane to pick a photo, re-enact the scene and if they were successful the bride and groom would kiss. A […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Rob and Emily’s Wolfe Island Wedding

I’ve lived in Kingston for the a little more than 20 years now and Rob was one of the first people I met in the local music scene when I moved here… Playing one of my first shows as a Kingstonian we had him on monitors and oh boy was it awesome.  We’ve worked a bunch of shows together since and he’s been the monitor eng and drum tech for the Trews for the last 10-ish years.  When they asked me […]

Prince Edward County offers so much for people planning their wedding.  From a photographer’s point of view it has everything we could want – history, greenery, water and wine.  oooooh wine. Jen and Adam decided their big day would be held at one of the many amazing vineyards in PEC, Casa Dea Estates. Here’s a few of my favorites to tell the story of their day…

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Nicola and Jeff @ Ban Righ Hall

When I met Nicola and Jeff last year (conveniently on the Toucan Patio – the sight of many of their dates I was told) we hit it off pretty quickly over a pint (maybe two).  They said they were going to have a live band at their wedding and were both former cheerleaders and avid swing dancers so I should expect a pretty hopping dance floor.  Uhhh… they weren’t joking about that either! From their first look before the ceremony the smiles […]

Napanee Wedding Photographer – New Years Eve @ Doghouse Studios

New Year’s Eve is always a party and if you add having a wedding to that party you end up with an event you’ll never forget.  When I met with Tiffany and Jay more than a year before their wedding, they’d arrived ahead of me and had already ordered a pitcher of beer (already earning my love).  I knew I was going to enjoy hearing their ideas on how to make a ruckus at Doghouse Studios on NYE.  There was talk […]

What else can you ask for on your wedding day but to be surrounded by those that love you, have outstanding weather (October is always a crapshoot for weather) and to laugh and party the day away with the person you love. Carleigh and Micheal did exactly that – love and laughter follow these two wherever they go. Below are some of my favorite images from the day.  Big thanks to Garrett Elliott for second shooting with me (a few of the […]

Napanee Wedding Photographer – Jessica and Derek

Jessica and Derek have a shared love of Queen’s where they met while in school.  After photographing Jessica and her sisters as a present for their parents a few years ago Derek contacted me to document his surprise proposal at Stauffer Library on the spot they met while ‘studying’ one very late night in university.  We also photographed their engagement session on campus the day after homecoming in 2014. I was pretty excited to photograph their wedding day and was lucky enough to have GPM Photography along […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Jenna and Ryan

What can only be described as the biggest monsoon of the summer happened on Jenna and Ryan’s wedding day.  The rain held off during the morning and through the ceremony but as soon as the “I do” was done the skies opened and it poured like crazy at The Mill House. I’ve shot 6 weddings at Doghouse Studios this summer (the 6th will be NYE) and every single one has been amazing.  It’s such a unique venue locally for smaller weddings and I love spending my days there.  On top of being a really cool venue, the staff are amazeballs! Morgan contacted me early in the spring and we discussed their plans.  Since, at the time, they both lived pretty far away, they wanted to find a spot that was close for friends and family to […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Jessie and Chad

The Kingston area had a surprisingly wet summer.  June and September were a crapshoot for outdoor weddings.  When I arrived at Jess and Chad’s home / horse stables just north of Kingston it was drizzling but spirits weren’t dampened as much as the ground was  (an old wive’s tale states rain on your wedding day is good luck!) but the rain was sporadic and in between the ceremony and reception we had a dry spot to do everything we wanted to do […]

oh Doghouse Studios …how I love thee.  You combine my favorite things to shoot; weddings and abandoned buildings.  Whenever I get an inquiry for Doghouse I instantly get giddy and can’t wait to meet the couple because they have uniqueness about them that lures them to this adorable old building for their wedding. Courtney and Jason are, indeed, unique.  Instead of getting dressed in their hotel Courtney decided to get ready in the ‘dance floor’ room at Doghouse because she […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Renaissance Event Centre

Shooting in downtown Kingston is excellent …part of that is because there’s a lot of pubs nearby that you can kill time in if you’re running ahead of schedule.  For Meghan’s wedding day that included a stop at the Tir Nan Og for a glass of wine (with a straw) for her and the girls. One of my favorite parts of Meghan and Andrew’s wedding day was the Dad/Daughter first look.  I’ve done a lot of first looks this year […]

prince edward county wedding photographer - prince edward county boudoir photographer

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Miss J Boudoir

I’ll be honest.  Boudoir is something I’d never really considered shooting.  I normally refer boudoir requests to one of my friends who are more experienced in the genre.  I never want to risk not performing to my own expectations and letting a client down by providing subpar images and boudoir is something I’ve had zero experience.  J is an experienced photographer in her own right (we’ve shot a crapload of weddings together in the last 3-4 years) When she asked me to […]

Kingston Wedding Photographer – Penny and Jarrett’s Cottage Wedding

Arriving at Penny’s family cottage with the threat of rain overhead Jarrett was checking his weather app frequently and saying “it’s gonna pass, no big deal …we’re going for it!”  The backup plan was a houseparty (they play in a band together and both figured they’d played house shows with more people than at the wedding so they could pull that off if need be. The rain held – they got married on the ‘swimming rock’ in front of 70 […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Cailin and Lange – Fields on West Lake Wedding

There was laughter, there were tears, there were combinations of the two at the same time …these two know how to throw a party! When I met Cailin and Lange a little more than a year ago as they started to kick their wedding planning in to high gear, Lange’s insanely awesome sense of humor was evident as well as Cailin’s patience for that sense of humor.  Their obvious adoration of each other infected me immediately and I knew I wanted to […]

Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer – Laura and Matt – The Wexford House

Laura and Matt had their first date at a beloved Kingston institution …no, not Kingston Pen …the Toucan!  I’ve know the bride for a number of years through mutual friends and when she e-mailed asking me to shoot her wedding I was so thrilled I think I forgot to check my calendar to see if I was already booked. They got the married yesterday at the Wexford House in Picton on gorgeous day with perfect weather.  Laura had a beaming smile on […]

I’ve known Jenna for a few years as a fellow Picton Wedding photographer.  I often shoot for Jenna’s company – About Image Photography – whenever I’m not booked for my own job and I’ll be shooting her wedding this September. Her and her fiance, Ryan, are planning a big DIY party for their Prince Edward County Wedding in Picton at the Mill House this September and needed to gather the wine for the tables.  They decided to rustle up a bus (thanks to a bridesmaid) […]

I met up with Cailin and Lange early last summer here in Kingston to discuss their wedding plans and immediately knew I wanted to shoot their wedding.  Their sense of humor, their obvious love and adoration for each other (and Rugby) was something I wanted to photograph.  They told me the story of Lange proposing on the Rideau Canal (nearby to where they live in Ottawa) and we talked about shooting their engagement photos there in the winter.  Fast forward […]

Stephanie and Colin are set to hit Lake Ontario for their Kingston wedding aboard the Island Queen in July.  They’re from the Kingston + Ottawa areas respectively but now live in Calgary.  While they were home for Easter (and a wedding shower featuring a beer tasting from Gananoque Brewing Co.!) we figured it’d be a great time to get together and wander around Gananoque for a while to make some photos.

Viamede Resort Wedding Photographer – Kyle and Lauren

One of the best parts of a creative career is collaborating with peers.  Having the opportunity to work with my favorite photographers is a chance to challenge myself to think outside of the norm, break patterns in my own work and crack some jokes with a friend. In Oct of 2014 my favorite newborn photographer, Jenn Munro, called and asked me to tag along to Kyle and Lauren’s wedding at Viamede Resort near Peterborough Ontario  …she claims she doesn’t shoot weddings but she definitely […]

Trenton Wedding Photography – Kelly and Eric – Occasions by the Bay Wedding

Sometimes I don’t get to meet my clients before their wedding day – Kelly and Eric were one of those couples.  They live in Welland and were choosing Trenton as their wedding location as a halfway point for family travelling from Easter Ontario and Western Ontario.  We’d chatted by E-mail and Facebook messages and I knew they were a couple I wanted to photograph. When Kelly arrived she beamed with excitement as she rushed to give me a hug exclaiming […]

Jenny and Dave – Trenton Wedding Photography

From the moment I arrived to shoot the guys getting ready I could tell this was going to be a party.  Slow to get started the gentlemen had enjoyed themselves a little too much the night before and were lazily watching the world cup match on the TV and slowly getting in to gear to help Dave celebrate his love for Jenny that afternoon by getting married. With a gorgeous day overhead they were married in the beautifully groomed front yard […]

Crystal and Jason were married in Wellington at the ESSROC arena in a true 80’s rock and roll party.  Tables labelled by their favorite bands and albums,  custom themed 80’s neon shirts/ties and dresses made by a friend and a cake made by Crystal.  The ceremony featured a blending of two families; culminating with the Bride and Groom giving rings to each of their daughters as a symbol of not only a wedding taking place, but the union of families. Here are some […]

I grew up in Trenton and although I’ve now been living in Kingston longer than I lived in Trenton, it’s still home (and home to my mom).  I’d never photographed a wedding back home so when Caitlin asked if I was available I was excited. I arrived at Matt’s house to do my 2nd shooter duties covering the Groom and found the guys hanging out in the back yard playing with Hooch (their beloved fur friend) and razzing the Groom.  After […]

I LOVE black and white photos. When my wife (Stephanie) and I got married in 2001 we asked our photographer to shoot b/w film because we both love the classy and timeless look of it.  Each year I make a personal project out of 1 wedding I’ve shot and process the complete day in b/w.  From this past year I chose Victor and Amelia’s wedding – this was one of my 2nd shooting jobs for the fabulous Gerald McGrath of GPM Photography. Tiffany and Mike – Kingston Wedding

Tiffany and Mike were married in early February on a very snowy day.  They contacted me after their wedding to see if I’d be available to shoot some more portraits as the weather prohibited spending a lot of time outside.  We met at the Kingston Mills Locks and spent the late afternoon wandering around and showing some love.  The newlyweds were still just as beaming as they were on their wedding day a couple of weeks earlier.
