I’ll be honest. Boudoir is something I’d never really considered shooting. I normally refer boudoir requests to one of my friends who are more experienced in the genre. I never want to risk not performing to my own expectations and letting a client down by providing subpar images and boudoir is something I’ve had zero experience. J is an experienced photographer in her own right (we’ve shot a crapload of weddings together in the last 3-4 years)
When she asked me to shoot a boudoir session so she could give her fiancé an album on their wedding day I was hesitant… but she refused to take my hesitation as a ‘no’ and we booked a date. “It’ll be fun and you’re gonna rock it!” were her words.
I’ll be shooting J’s wedding in September and she was insistent on me experimenting with the genre and had the trust in me to do the job properly. Finding a photographer you trust is key in making great photos… especially in boudoir photography! We had a blast and I think that fun is reflected in the images we got together.
