New Year’s Eve is always a party and if you add having a wedding to that party you end up with an event you’ll never forget. When I met with Tiffany and Jay more than a year before their wedding, they’d arrived ahead of me and had already ordered a pitcher of beer (already earning my love). I knew I was going to enjoy hearing their ideas on how to make a ruckus at Doghouse Studios on NYE. There was talk of glitterbombs, tasty alcohol shots, “smackmaids” (NOT bridesmaids) a giant dessert table (HELLO!) culminating with a midnight kiss and (more) shots.
Downtown Napanee puts out a beautiful display of lights during the Holiday Season and we decided to take advantage of that and stop traffic at 730pm (well…there wasn’t a lot of traffic but we did stop it) and stand in the middle of the road to use those lights as a backdrop for a quick portrait.
NYE is always a gamble for weather in this part of the country and Tif and Jay’s day was spectacular ..not too cold, not too crappy …they couldn’t have asked for a better day get married in the middle of winter and party with their best friends.
Below are a few of my favorite images from an awesome day spent with amazing people…
